I have a love\/hate relationship with exhibiting at trade shows for my remodeling and wholesale supply businesses. Here\u2019s what I love about trade shows.<\/p><p><strong><em>The \u2018goods\u2019 about trade shows <\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>As a \u2018people-person\u2019 I love past customers coming to our booth, sharing how they\u2019re enjoying their shower wall panels, or glass block windows or new master closet we designed, supplied and\/or installed for them.<\/p><p>I love meeting new prospects, gauging their interest and answering questions about the new <a href=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/products\/bathrooms\/laminated-diy-shower-bathroom-wall-panels\">waterproof laminated wall panel<\/a> line we\u2019re importing from Norway. There\u2019s nothing like \u2018live market research.\u2019<\/p><p>It\u2019s fun sharing what I\u2019ve learned about our products and services face to face. It\u2019s fun laughing with people you\u2019ve never met. I love it when they sign up for a free design consultation. That\u2019s a pay-dirt moment. As a business owner I think, \u201cMaybe I\u2019ll make a few bucks from the time and energy my team has invested in this show.\u201d<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Goods-about-trade-shows.png\" alt=\"Goods about trade shows | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #TradeShows #RemodelersShow #KBRS\" width=\"1405\" height=\"935\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-459\" \/><\/p><p>That\u2019s the good news about trade shows from my perspective. Now for the bad.<\/p><p><strong><em>The \u2018bads\u2019 about trade shows <\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>There are times trade shows can be a pain in the rear. I HATE staffing a booth when traffic is dead. While I\u2019m making \u2018small-talk\u2019 with a person staffing a neighboring booth (as you can hear a pin drop in the dead aisles) I\u2019m thinking about work piling up at the office. I\u2019m thinking I could be writing another blog post (which creates leads 24\/7 with ZERO additional effort from me). I\u2019m thinking I could be spending time with my family. My wife Rose says (and she\u2019s correct \u2013 hey I\u2019ve been married for 35 years I\u2019ve learned to know this is true \u2013 ha! ha!) I work too much as it is, and a slow trade show isn\u2019t time well spent. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>I also find it harder than ever to get people to sign up for a free design consultation. They\u2019ll say, \u201cJust give me your card or brochure. We\u2019ll call you when we\u2019re ready.\u201d I\u2019m thinking to myself, that brochure or card is destined to a place where \u2018the sun don\u2019t shine!\u201d<\/p><p>When it\u2019s slow I think about the cost, and even more important, the time my team invested in an attractive display. I know we\u2019re already short-staffed. I hate seeing time wasted at an event where we got a bad return on our money. In my book it\u2019s worse than a bad ad spend. At least with poor performing ad your team doesn\u2019t have the time-sucking effort making (and staffing) a booth.<\/p><p>I\u2019ve often asked myself, \u201cIs there a better way to do shows so my company can improve our return on time and money invested?\u201d<\/p><p><strong><em>Searching for ideas to make trade shows more effective \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>So, as a business owner who has been \u2018moderately effective\u2019 with trade shows, my goal with this article is to help you (and I) with two things:<\/p><ol><li>To identify the pros and the cons of doing trade shows for a remodeling business.<\/li><li>To learn specific tips to use when we do enter shows to get a better return on our money and time.<\/li><\/ol><p>If I\u2019m going to spend time and money on shows, I darn well want to get a financial return from our efforts (and I want the same for you).<\/p><p>So, I searched out people smarter than me (OK \u2013 there\u2019s a few of you out there saying, \u201cMike, that shouldn\u2019t be hard to do!). I got names\/number of remodeling business owners and trade show promotions executives who know what the heck they\u2019re doing. I took notes and have reported what I learned below.<\/p><p>To make it simpler, I\u2019ve organized this post in 3 sections. Here\u2019s a preview of the sections:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Section I \u2013 <\/strong>9 reasons (some which may surprise you) why you should do trade shows for your remodeling business.<\/li><li><strong>Section II \u2013 <\/strong>5 reasons you shouldn\u2019t do trade shows for your remodeling business.<\/li><li><strong>Section III \u2013 <\/strong>7 expert-level tips (and one \u00bd tip from me) to get the biggest bang for your buck when you do take the plunge and invest in a show.<\/li><\/ul><h2><strong><em>Section I \u2013 9 Reasons You Should Do Trade Shows for your Remodeling Business <\/em><\/strong><\/h2><h3><strong>Reason #1 \u2013 Having a person to person conversation in an \u2018Attention Deficit\u2019 world \u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p>For those of you who know me, you know I LOVE digital marketing. However, there\u2019s still no better way to communicate than person to person with your prospective customer. You can see, feel and hear another person\u2019s passion, interest (or disinterest) in your products\/services. No ad, or digital lead form can recreate the face to face personal contact you get at a show.<\/p><p>In fact, as Tom Baugh, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplaceevents.com\/\">Marketplace Events<\/a> puts it, \u201cWe live in a world of massive, pervasive attention deficit. With most everyone increasingly tethered to mobile devises, an engaged face-to-face audience is rare and very valuable.\u201d<\/p><p>Indeed, trade shows provide you an opportunity to have real, live, human to human \u2018Face-Time\u2019 no electronic devise can match!<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Person-locked-in-on-their-cell-phone.png\" alt=\"Person locked in on their cell phone | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #TradeShows #CellPhoneUse #PersonOnPhone #EventShows\" width=\"1401\" height=\"940\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-460\" \/><\/p><h3><strong>Reason #2 \u2013 Conduct live \u2018market research\u2019 without a big-company \u2018focus-group\u2019 budget<\/strong><\/h3><p>If you\u2019re launching a new product (like I am through our network of nationwide dealers of <a href=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/\">laminated shower wall panels<\/a>) you\u2019ll get unfiltered customer feedback at a show. What do people like? What don\u2019t they like? What questions are they asking? Would they use your new product? If so, where? \u00a0<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #3 \u2013 Build name recognition and brand awareness \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p>Doesn\u2019t it bug you when the biggest companies in your market win jobs over you when you know you deliver a better-quality finished product at a better price? There are 2 reasons your competitors \u2018get away\u2019 with this. First, they\u2019re better known than you (they seem like the safer choice to your prospects) and (2) some owners often don\u2019t know the difference between an \u2018A\u2019 quality and a \u2018C\u2019 quality job.<\/p><p>Shows give you the opportunity to begin to build big company name recognition.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #4 \u2013 You can build a list and email it more than twice <\/strong><\/h3><p>Trade shows can beat the pants off print ads because they give you the opportunity to educate people on your products and services in a personalized (one to one) way. However, when they leave the show, they\u2019re likely to forget 95% of what you said. They\u2019ll stick your pretty brochure in the deep, dark crevasses of a file drawer (if you\u2019re lucky). Basically, you\u2019re forgotten.<\/p><p>In today\u2019s, easy to be forgotten, marketplace you can\u2019t let this happen to you and your business. As Lieutenant Nathan R. Jessup from <em>A Few Good Men <\/em>would command you,<\/p><p>\u201cYou want to stay top of mind. You need to stay top of mind.\u201d<\/p><p>The question becomes, how. As you\u2019ll see in Section III the best companies get email addresses at the show so they can market again, and again and again (all with limited to no cost). This \u2018new-age\u2019 marketing approach is critically important in a world where, as a project-based remodeler, you\u2019re desperately trying to stay \u2018top of mind\u2019 without draining your budget.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #5 \u2013 Get a lead and book an appointment at the same time \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Have you gotten leads from the Internet or after- hours voice mail messages and never been able to connect to schedule an appointment?<\/p><p>With trade shows (if you listen to the smart idea from Rob Booher from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booherbuilding.com\/\">Booher Remodeling in Indianapolis<\/a>) you&#8217;ll schedule a sales appointment at the same time your prospects are in the booth. Now, that\u2019s sales administrative efficiency at its finest.<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/scheduling-an-appointment-at-trade-shows-900x674.jpg\" alt=\"scheduling an appointment at trade shows | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #SchedulingLeads #TradeShowTips #SuccessfulShows #RemodelingEvents \" width=\"1403\" height=\"1051\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/scheduling-an-appointment-at-trade-shows-900x674.jpg 900w, https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/scheduling-an-appointment-at-trade-shows-768x575.jpg 768w, https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/scheduling-an-appointment-at-trade-shows-1600x1198.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/scheduling-an-appointment-at-trade-shows.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1403px) 100vw, 1403px\" \/><\/p><h3><strong>Reason #6 \u2013 You can \u2018stack the booth\u2019 in your favor \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>When a previous customer who (almost) loves you as much as your Mom, shows up in your booth and start \u2018singing your praises,\u2019 they can \u2018sell\u2019 your business waaaay better than even your best rep.<\/p><p>Their \u2018testimonial\u2019 can convert \u2018non-believers\u2019 in no-time-flat you\u2019re the company for their bathroom, kitchen or whole house remodel.<\/p><p>Trade shows can be the conduit for these impromptu interactions which are darn hard to replicate otherwise.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #7 \u2013 Connect with suppliers and subcontractors and make your business soar \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Just because someone you meet at a show is not a consumer looking to buy your product or remodeling service, doesn\u2019t mean they can\u2019t be a connection which can \u2018rock your business world!\u2019<\/p><p>At trade shows you can network to find a new supplier, or a hard-to-get qualified subcontractor or even an industry influencer or blogger to feature your product or service in their next article.<\/p><p>Don\u2019t limit who(m) can help grow your business to only those who are \u2018attendees.\u2019<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #8 \u2013 Prequalify your prospects (and stop dealing with the prospect from \u2018H-E-Double-Hockey Sticks\u2019 as your kids used to say) <\/strong><\/h3><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>As Cathy Berthold, Exhibit Sales Consultant for Marketplace Events said to me, \u201cMike, just because someone expresses an interest in your products or services at your booth (and are trying to prequalify your company) doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re the right prospect for you.\u201d<\/p><p>This is so true. Maybe the scope of their project is wrong. Maybe you can tell they have unrealistic expectations and a budget which \u2018ain\u2019t happenin.\u2019 Maybe you can tell they will be a royal pain in the _______ (fill in your word here).<\/p><p>Trade shows can make your sales process more efficient by weeding out people who don\u2019t fit what you do (or are the type of client you want to do it for). <strong>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Prequalify-difficult-customers-at-Remodeling-Events.png\" alt=\"Prequalify difficult customers at Remodeling Events | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #DifficultCustomers #TradeShowLeads #BathroomRemodeling #RemodelingEvents\" width=\"1403\" height=\"1107\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-462\" \/><br \/><\/strong><\/p><h3><strong>Reason #9 \u2013 You can give them a \u2018taste\u2019 of what you\u2019ve got <\/strong><\/h3><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>In college you might have taken a \u2018survey course\u2019 where you learned a very little bit about a broad subject. Trade shows are like this survey course. They give you the chance to show a little bit of everything \u2013 but not much depth of anything.<\/p><p>This can be a good thing. For example, if you have a design showroom when people are looking at your smaller trade show exhibit, you can suggest they visit the larger display at your offices. The show can be the \u2018tasting menu,\u2019 to interest them in an appointment to see the \u2018main course\u2019 \u2026your showroom.<\/p><h2><strong><em>Section II \u2013 5 Reasons You Shouldn\u2019t Do Trade Shows for your Remodeling Business <\/em><\/strong><\/h2><h3><strong>Reason #1 \u2013 They\u2019re time-consuming <\/strong><\/h3><p>Time is not only money, time is time \u2013 which is in limited supply. If you\u2019re an understaffed remodeler, you know what I\u2019m talking about. You\u2019re barely keeping your head above water. It\u2019s hard to do trade shows when you\u2019re not getting your \u2018day-job\u2019 done.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #2 \u2013 The show isn\u2019t a self-service 24\/7 operation<\/strong><\/h3><p>The beauty of your web site, blog and social media posts and on-line videos is you can get leads while sleeping. Shows are not a 24\/7\/365-day lead-gen platform. Most exhibitors only create potential returns and future connections during show hours.<\/p><p>Note \u2013 in my \u20181\/2 tip at the end I\u2019ll give you an idea to get your home show participation a \u2018time extension\u2019 like one of my favorite videos games called \u2018Hydro-Thunder\u2019 so it actually doesn\u2019t end during show hours. More about this later.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #3 \u2013 Your competitors are EVERYWHERE <\/strong><\/h3><p>Turn around the corner and they\u2019re there. Walk down the aisle and they\u2019re there. \u2018They\u2019 are your evil competitors (OK \u2013 their Mothers wouldn\u2019t agree with you here). Trade shows provide an easy venue for your prospects to \u2018shop\u2019 you vs. the guy\/gal down the street.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #4 \u2013 Event planners and trade show executives don\u2019t control the weather <\/strong><\/h3><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Ever see that evil white-stuff (for us Midwesterners and East Coast people that would be snow \u2013 a dirty word in my book), kill a trade show? Beyond anyone\u2019s control, weather can keep people inside and snuggled in their homes for those all-important home shows in early January and February.<\/p><h3><strong>Reason #5 \u2013 Your people aren\u2019t jumping for joy (sarcasm intended) staffing the trade show this weekend <\/strong><\/h3><p>You\u2019re practically begging your sales reps, your office staff, your installers and the company dog to staff your trade show display (although the company dog could be the biggest draw to get people into your booth \u2013 only kidding\u2026kind of). Even though some will be earning overtime, NO ONE wants to give up their weekends.<\/p><p><strong><em>Now that you know the \u2018goods\u2019 and the \u2018bads,\u2019 how can you make trade shows more effective for you?<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>It\u2019s not hard to come up with the reasons to do (or not to do) trade shows in sections I and II. He said, \u201cInvite past customers who love you to your booth. Then buy them a pretzel or coffee and get them to stay as long as they\u2019d like.\u201d<\/p><p>Neil said, \u201cThen when new prospects come into your booth, your past customers can gush about how much they love the work you\u2019ve done for them in the past.\u201d<\/p><p>I can see how this simple idea can be so powerful. Let your past customers do the \u2018bragging for you.\u2019 See new prospects become instantly interested in working with you. What a smart and practical idea. \u00a0<\/p><h3><strong>Expert Level Tip #2 \u2013 Use greeters and \u2018freebees\u2019 to build your list <\/strong><\/h3><p>After Neil told me about this idea (one I\u2019ve been avoiding for years), it hit me like a ton of bricks that it can be the key for my company getting a better return on trade shows.<\/p><p>You see Neil doesn\u2019t have his company staff \u2018out front\u2019 in the booth. He uses friendly greeters. These greeters are like your favorite waiter\/waitress in a restaurant. They\u2019re warm, friendly, high-energy outgoing people. Their goal is to get people to sign up for a free prize drawing (maybe a dinner for 2 at a local restaurant).<\/p><p>The greeters provide an entry slip (with an email address and a signature approval to go on the email list) and ask if there is any type of remodeling project the person is considering. What\u2019s he\u2019s doing is getting permission to continue to educate and provide value to these owners. He\u2019ll send content through his email list. Here\u2019s a few bits of advice she offered up:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Idea #1) Make your booth interactive \u2013 <\/strong>The booth can become interactive if you\u2019ve got a free wheel for the kids to spin to get a free sucker. Or it can be interactive if you have a \u2018live demo\u2019 showing a whiz-bang <a href=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/products\/bathrooms\/laminated-diy-shower-bathroom-wall-panels\">shower wall panel<\/a> system being installed (this is an idea I\u2019m going to adopt for our future shows). Or, here\u2019s an example of a booth which demos how to tape and drywall easier with a tool invented by Ron Morton.<\/li><\/ul><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Interactive-booth-tape-drywall-demo.png\" alt=\"Interactive booth tape drywall demo | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #interactivebooth #homeshowbooth #EventBooth #TradeShowBooth\" width=\"1401\" height=\"1022\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-465\" \/><\/p><ul><li><strong>Idea #2) Point out in a problem in their lives!<\/strong> \u2013 Many people won\u2019t stop at your booth, unless they think you can help them solve a problem. Cathy suggested a sign which points out the problem. For example, Cathy had an exhibitor with a new product which could save re-mulching year after year. Their sign said, \u201cAre you tired of re-mulching?\u201d In my business, I think we could make a sign which says, \u201cAre you sick and tired of cleaning grout joints?\u201d<\/li><li><strong>Idea #3) Show something eye-catching \u2013 <\/strong>What could you do to get people to stop in their tracks? C. Lee has a solution for clogged toilets and created a display which made it look (at first glance) there was water running all over the floor. While that wouldn\u2019t be fun in real life, it showed the problem they solve for people \u2013 visually and effectively.<\/li><\/ul><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Show-something-eye-catching-C-Lee-overflowing-toilet-cleveland-trade-show.png\" alt=\"Show something eye catching C Lee overflowing toilet cleveland trade show | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #TradeShows #EyeCatchingBooth #Tradeshowbooth\" width=\"1403\" height=\"716\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-466\" \/><br \/><h3><strong>Expert level tip #4 \u2013 Not ready this year, we\u2019ll \u2018comp\u2019 for next year\u2019s show! \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p>One of the things I know I hate to hear (but is the harsh, cruel reality) is when people say, \u201cThis is not a project we\u2019re looking to do this year. I\u2019ll just take your literature and get back to you (\u2018er that\u2019s the kiss of death to staying top of mind right there).<\/p><p>One smart idea Cathy came up with was to offer these people comp them tickets for next year\u2019s show. This way you\u2019re doing something nice for them (and you can use the free comp tickets the show promoter gives you for free anyway!). I would also ask permission to email market to them your educational content, so you stay top of mind throughout the year. This is the ultimate \u2018soft sell\u2019 with smart content.<\/p><h3><strong>Expert level tip #5 \u2013 You gotta be real \u2013 create a \u2018before\/after\u2019 display and before\/after pics \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p>While sexy finished project studio shots from your manufacturing partners look very sharp, they aren\u2019t real work done in your specific market with your expertise.<\/p><p>Cathy advises to include in your booth a live before and after display or before and after pictures (of actual jobs). You can explain how you created this cool transformation (and even what neighborhoods these jobs are in). While these pictures or displays aren\u2019t as pretty as the studio shots, they scream out \u2018we\u2019re capable, we\u2019ve done it and we can do it for you.\u2019 <strong>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Before-and-after-remodeling-show-display-of-shower-wall-and-tub-refinishing.png\" alt=\"Before and after remodeling show display of shower wall and tub refinishing | Innovate Building Solutions | Innovate Builders Blog | #TradeShow #TradeShowBooths #Events #RemodelingEvents\" width=\"1397\" height=\"922\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-468\" \/><br \/><\/strong><\/p><h3><strong>Expert level tip #6 \u2013 If your staff isn\u2019t excited to commit, you must acquit <\/strong><\/h3><p>I guess you can call this one the \u201cJohnnie Cochran trade show tip.\u201d I\u2019m sure you and I have dealt with the disgruntled sales rep or installer being \u2018stuck\u2019 staffing your trade show booth. They\u2019re the ones with scowls on their face, staring continuously at their phone or sitting in a chair behind a laptop \u2018getting work done.\u2019<\/p><p>Bottom line -they don\u2019t want to staff your booth and it doesn\u2019t take a crack detective (or any live living human being strolling down the aisles of the show) to figure this out.<\/p><p>As Cathy told me, \u201cIf your people don\u2019t want to staff the show they shouldn\u2019t be there. In these instances, you\u2019re far-better off with friendly people you hire to work the show from outside the company to lead generate.\u201d<\/p><p>If they won\u2019t commit their efforts to grow your business at the show, they shouldn\u2019t be there.<\/p><h3><strong>Expert level tip #7 \u2013 Promote your event at this event <\/strong><\/h3><p>You\u2019ve signed up for a show which will have hundreds or possibly thousands of people walking the aisles.<\/p><p>However, what you really want is for them to eventually visit your business and focus on your products and services exclusively.\u2019<\/p><p>So, here\u2019s a thoughtful idea Cathy dished up. Why not have an invitation made out for them to attend a demonstration or event at your place after the show? Use this bigger event to promote (and secure attendance) for your event.<\/p><p>Cool idea, hey?<\/p><h3><strong>My \u2018half-tip\u2019 \u2013 Create a \u2018trade show\u2019 which stays fired up with \u2018digital juice\u2019 long after the show is over <\/strong><\/h3><p>I like to get leads when I\u2019m sleeping. I also like to get leads when I\u2019m NOT staffing a trade show booth. I\u2019d also like to get \u2018residual juice\u2019 from my past trade show investment. And it\u2019s cool to know is there\u2019s a way to actually make this happen. Here\u2019s how.<\/p><p>Instead of just \u2018doing the trade\u2019 show I\u2019d recommend you blog and \u2018social media\u2019 post (the daylights) out of your trade show participation. Write an article (with pictures from the show) about a cool new product you\u2019ve introduced. Get quotes from actual attendees about how unbelievable it is.<\/p><p>Or write an article about \u2018trends in the marketplace\u2019 with different products (including your company\u2019s products) which you feature in a blog post. Let the other companies know you\u2019ve featured their products and have them spin this post out to their following (it\u2019s a \u2018digital marketing layup\u2019 for them \u2013 sharing positive content about their products\/services somebody else did the work to create). Quite frankly, it got longer than I wanted \u2013 but I got so many good ideas from others I just had to share.<\/p><p>So, at the beginning I said I had a love\/hate relationship with trade shows.<\/p><p>Well after doing the research for this article I think part of my problem is not asking for some of these good ideas from others before doing the years and years of trade shows I\u2019ve already done.<\/p><p>Heading forward here\u2019s 3 things I\u2019m looking to do (and will suggest to my network of nationwide <a href=\"https:\/\/innovatebuildingsolutions.com\/dealers\/\">bathroom wall panel dealers<\/a> they consider as well) to ramp up our \u2018trade show game.\u201d<\/p><ul><li><strong>Use greeters and have a \u2018free contest<\/strong>.\u2019 I want more email sign ups, to continue to educate people who are in the research process and this is a great way to get them.<\/li><\/ul><p>&nbsp;<\/p><ul><li><strong>Make our booth interactive<\/strong> \u2013 I\u2019m thinking we should have a wall we partially install so people can watch how easy our wall panels are installed. I\u2019ll only do this during peak show hours on the weekend to keep costs down.<\/li><\/ul><p>&nbsp;<\/p><ul><li><strong>Invite past customers and buy them coffee or a pretzel \u2013 <\/strong>Our success is from these people choosing us. The more I can have them \u2018hang out\u2019 in our booth, the more they can share what they\u2019ve loved about us with others.<\/li><\/ul><p>So, has this article given you any new trade show ideas?
